Financial Control Manager - Bristol

Company

International retailer in Bristol now seeks to strengthen its financial control team with the appointment of a Financial Control Manager.  Responsible for key internal monthly reporting across its European territories, you will also ensure all work is up to the standards of internal & external audit, including Sarbanes Oxley controls.

Role

Responsible for the financial reporting and balance sheet management of major business units.  Coaching and leading a small accounting & reporting team, you will provide commercial business partnering, analytical and reporting support the business.  Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing best in class external and internal financial reporting 
• Coordinating the monthly group management accounts including consolidation of UK and overseas subsidiaries
• Identifying changes in external accounting, regulatory and legal disclosure requirements that will have an impact on the Group’s external financial reporting
• Recommending and implementing improvements to the internal control environment, ensuring appropriate policies and controls are in place to deliver on the group business plans
• Assessment of the impact of new accounting standards

About You

Of graduate calibre, you will likely be a qualified ACA or ACCA with c4years post qualified experience and demonstrated technical expertise in international accounting and financial management.  You will possess cultural awareness and sensitivity and be an excellent communicator with both internal and external colleagues at all levels.  You will have an ability to analyse and make recommendations, alongside the capacity to drive through key business changes.
