Financial Controller - Bristol

Company

Our client is a privately owned consulting/business services organisation based in central Bristol.  As part of its 2025 strategy and targeting its next exciting stage of growth, it now seeks to appoint a Financial Controller to own all operational and commercial finance aspects.

Playing a pivotal role in driving the financial health and strategic direction of this growing organisation, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations and control, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance and well as broader involvement in commercial finance and business growth opportunities.

Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will drive both reporting and forecasting activities.  As part of the leadership team, the Financial Controller is expected to play an active role in all key operational and commercial decisions and is a critical part of the strategic planning process.  The latter involves being comfortable with complex financial forecasting models as the company continues to plan its ambitious growth.    

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring all internal and external requirements for statutory, business and corporate reporting
• Communicating accurate and timely financial results
• Understanding financial risks and provide ad hoc analysis
• Own the planning/budgeting/forecasting process for both P&L and Capex, ensuring financial impacts of key channel activities are fully understood
• Responsible for the financial evaluation of new initiatives, business activities and capital investments

About You

As a graduate-calibre qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA) with at least 5 years PQE experience, you will be a strong people manager with well-developed communication skills and evidence of building successful stakeholder relationships.  With an ability to focus on the detail, but also grasp the bigger picture, you will have a proven track record of high-level business partnering.
