We are delighted to be working alongside FW Capital to recruit an Investment Executive into its recently opened Bristol Office.

FW Capital (http://www.fwcapital.co.uk) is one of the UK’s largest regional fund managers and has a strong track record of providing flexible finance to dynamic businesses.  Providing finance to SME businesses in the South West through the British Business Bank’s new £200 million South West Investment Fund (SWIF), FW Capital will manage the SWIF debt finance fund, providing commercial loans of £100,000 to £2 million to businesses in Bristol, Gloucestershire, North and North East Somerset and Wiltshire.

The SWIF was recently launched by the British Business Bank and is aimed at fostering growth and prosperity for SME businesses across the South West.  It covers the entire South West region and provides loans from £25k to £2m and equity investment up to £5m to help a range of small and medium sized businesses to start up, scale up or stay ahead.

 

About The Role

Working as part of a newly formed experienced and supportive team, the Investment Executive is responsible for sourcing, appraising and making loan investments into SMEs in the South West of England.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Through sustained and extensive business development activity, source and appraise suitable investment opportunities
  • Develop and maintain links and networks with key business introducers and intermediaries to source suitable investment opportunities
  • Conduct thorough and robust management, financial and commercial due diligence when considering investment opportunities and assess the risks of each investment
  • Negotiate terms and conditions relating to legal documentation for the making of investments. Contribute to the investment team’s financial target, playing a key role in delivering timely and excellent customer servic
  • Understand and assess underlying cashflow assumptions and comment on the risks associated with these and suggest and conduct appropriate sensitivity analysi
  • Take responsibility for the creation of covenants and the setting of limit
  • Prepare sanction reports for credit sanction and present findings to Investment Committe
  • Taking responsibility for the completion of deals
  • Assess applications for funding and prepare reports recommending investment to Fund Manager, investment director or investment committee

 

 

About You

As a qualified Accountant with likely 1-3yrs PQE, you will likely be operating in either Transaction Services within a top accountancy firm or potentially Corporate Finance (within industry or practice).  With a proven track record contributing to the execution of transactions, you will be comfortable preparing high quality pitch materials and proposals including sector mapping, market analysis and target client positioning.
