We're partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed consumer business to appoint a commercially astute CFO who wants to help build an exceptional brand and play a genuine role in creating long-term value.
This is a founder-led business with an ambitious growth agenda. The foundations are in place, the brand has real momentum, and the leadership team is now looking for a finance leader who can help navigate the next stage of its journey.
While we're open to experienced CFOs, we're equally interested in outstanding Finance Directors or Heads of Finance who are ready to step into their first CFO position. What matters most is your commercial instinct, your consumer pedigree and your ability to become a trusted partner to both the Founder and investors.
The Opportunity
You'll sit at the heart of the business, working alongside an entrepreneurial Founder and engaged private equity investors to shape strategy, accelerate growth and ensure the business is positioned for its next phase of value creation.
This is far more than a finance leadership role.
You'll influence commercial decisions, support expansion, improve operational performance, oversee investment priorities and help build the infrastructure required for a scaling consumer business.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as strategic partner to the Founder and Board.
- Lead all aspects of finance, commercial planning and business performance.
- Build robust budgeting, forecasting and cashflow processes.
- Deliver meaningful commercial insight that supports faster, better decisions.
- Develop KPIs and reporting that drive accountability across the business.
- Partner with private equity investors on performance, governance and value creation initiatives.
- Lead funding, banking and investor relationships where required.
- Build, develop and inspire a high-performing finance function.
- Support acquisitions, strategic projects and future exit planning where appropriate.
- Ensure strong financial controls whilst maintaining the agility expected within a founder-led environment.
About You
Above everything else, you're a consumer finance leader.
You understand brands.
You understand customers.
You understand how consumer businesses create value.
You'll have built your career within retail, consumer goods, direct-to-consumer, FMCG, lifestyle or hospitality businesses, giving you an instinctive understanding of the commercial drivers that make these organisations successful.
We're looking for someone who can combine strategic thinking with a willingness to remain close to the detail.
You'll likely bring:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- A career built almost exclusively within consumer-facing businesses.
- Experience partnering senior leadership to drive commercial performance.
- Strong FP&A, cashflow and business planning capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A naturally curious, ambitious and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Previous experience within a private equity-backed or founder-led environment would be advantageous, although not essential.
