Highly acquisitive PLC located in the South West has a newly created role for a Director of Financial Reporting to lead its accounting and controls agenda. Working as part of an ambitious senior leadership team, you will be focused on delivering the month end close along with managing the group balance sheet along and audit relationships.
The role is a hybrid role, with an average of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, although this can vary depending on requirements.
We would welcome applications from those who have trained and qualified from a professional international accounting and audit firm. Perhaps you may be a Director level in one of these firms or already be working in industry in a Corporate or Financial Reporting capacity.
Role
Given the ongoing M&A strategy, the financial arrangements that underpin this structure are naturally complex and require expert financial control in order to ensure that the business delivers absolute integrity in its financial position, both internally and to investors.
Coaching and leading a corporate reporting and controls team, you will have overall management responsibility for the Group’s External Reporting and Accounting team which provides services and technical support to the Group in the areas of technical and project accounting, external reporting and taxation. Not only ensuring that the reporting practices are fit for purpose, you will also drive the processes and systems that underpin them, implementing a revised group wide financial control framework. Delivering accurate and timely external statutory financial reporting for the Group, you will be positioned as a subject matter expert on accounting standards.
About You
The successful candidate will be an ACA qualified chartered accountant with clear potential and extensive experience in both practice and industry, and the leadership skills to operate effectively at the highest levels and develop a talented team. Balancing technical accuracy, commerciality and efficiency through personal leadership and the development of central and local finance teams, the Director of Financial Reporting role provides the foundation of financial integrity upon which the business decisions are based and reputation is built.
