Financial Accounting Manager - Bristol

Highly acquisitive global brand headquartered in Bristol now seeks to appoint a Financial Accounting Manager into its group finance team.  As part of its 2025 strategy and ongoing growth trajectory, the organisation is looking to strengthen its Senior Management Team to ensure its set up for future success.  Ensuring the effectiveness and robustness of Group consolidation processes so Group financial reporting outputs are accurate and delivered in a timely manner and reflect, appropriate accounting standards, you will also be responsible for help driving continuous improvement of the reporting systems and control processes and key stakeholder in the Finance Transformation Program.  

The role is suitable for a candidate looking for their first role outside of practice or already working in a group reporting role elsewhere.

 

Role

Reporting to the Head of Group Finance you will lead the group reporting agenda and be expected to play a key part in ad-hoc projects that could include M&A activity, business insights projects, and other commercial activities.  Specific activities include:

  • Business partnering with Exec Stakeholders and providing financial support, challenge and guidance
  • Challenging strategic processes and promoting business re-engineering activities
  • Statutory reporting (UK GAAP and IFRS)
  • Providing independent ongoing review of group financial control and reporting
  • Driving the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Developing a M&A-standard business plan model incorporating debt financing components
  • Providing input into the ongoing acquisition strategy

 

About You

Your career history to date should demonstrate a move into the corporate world which includes extensive reporting experience.  Naturally the role would appeal to an ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant, likely c5+ years PQE.  Experience of M&A would be hugely desirable but not essential.  A self-starter and highly motivated, you will be both energetic and industrious and be comfortable building relationships quickly.  Given the scale of growth and the need to position a future senior leader within the function, we are looking for a high potential, high energy individual that will drive and deliver results.  You can expect to benefit from a competitive base salary and benefits package.
