Coyne & Associates has been retained by Belmont Estate to appoint a Financial Controller to support the next phase of growth across their purpose-driven, commercially ambitious rural estates.

Belmont Estate is located in Wraxall, North Somerset, just outside Bristol.  The estate sits in open countryside, approximately 20 minutes southwest of Bristol city centre, with easy access to the A370 and wider South West region.

Aberarder Estate sits south of Inverness, near Loch Ness.

This will be a primarily office-based role at Belmont Estate (around 4 days per week), balanced with a pragmatic and flexible approach where appropriate.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role blends robust financial control with hands-on commercial partnering across Belmont Estate and Aberarder Estate.

You will:

  • Own month-end close and deliver high-quality management accounts with clear insight and commentary.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to sales, marketing and leadership teams.
  • Create impactful models to support decision-making, growth, investment returns, trading & commercial activities
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and rolling cashflow.
  • Ensure strong controls, balance sheet integrity and compliance.
  • Drive systems, process improvement and automation.
  • Support statutory accounts, tax, VAT and compliance processes with external advisers.
  • Develop and manage one finance team member.

This is a broad, influential role suited to someone who enjoys combining detail, insight and commercial impact.

 

About You

You will be:

  • ACA or CIMA qualified with c.3-5+ years’ PQE, ideally in an SME or owner-managed environment.
  • Experienced in financial control, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
  • Comfortable building and using financial models for pricing, margin and scenario analysis.
  • A credible business partner, able to challenge constructively and communicate clearly.
  • Commercially minded, analytical and pragmatic.
  • Aligned with Belmont’s values around nature, community and long-term impact.

Experience in rural estates, agriculture, hospitality or natural-capital environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
