Group Financial Controller - Bristol

£100,000-£110,000 - Financial Controller
Ref: 651 Date Posted: Friday 17 May 2024

Company

High growth and ambitious international brand located in Bristol now seeks to appoint a Group Financial Controller to lead its internal and external reporting agenda.  Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for managing the Group P&L and balance sheet activities across the globe.  ACA or ACCA qualified with likely 5-8years PQE, you will be a progressive, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.

As an extremely strong technical accountant, with a proven ability to oversee the production of flawless monthly, half year and full year management and financial accounts, you will have an incredible eye for detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in the accounts, and through experience have the know-how to get them fixed.   Likely to have started your career working for a professional international accounting and audit firm – it doesn’t necessarily need to be one of the “big four” but we do need someone with a substantive background working in practice early in their career.  This role will be focused on overseeing the month end close, audit relationships and managing group balance sheet integrity.

Role

Working as part of a high performing senior management team, you will lead and coach a large multi-disciplinary finance group.  As well as overseeing the internal reporting agenda, you will drive the quarterly, half year and year end press releases, deliver the financial statements within the Group's Annual Report and ensure full support behind the Group's external results presentations.  You will support delivery of the cashflow targets and provide meaningful and timely analysis of business performance to allow course correction.  In addition you will regularly assess the financial processes in supporting financial data preparation and assets safeguarding.

About You

Having ideally trained and qualified in a Big4 accountancy firm, you will demonstrate a track record of financial control in a global or multi-location PLC company.  Whilst experience of “PLC” internal control environments is advantageous, we would also consider Associate Director/Director profiles from Top10 with global/listed client portfolio.  With the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with critical decision making, you will naturally have high integrity and openness combined with a commitment to good governance.  Significant people-management and leadership experience will be key along with proven experience of driving high performance.

Benefits include highly competitive basic salary and bonus scheme.
