International private equity based FMCG business in London now seeks to appoint a UK&I Head of Commercial Finance. You will act as a catalyst in driving forward processes and initiatives critical to the delivery of the strategic plan, providing highly relevant insight into business performance and owning the medium- and long-term financial planning and forecasting process.  The role offers great progression opportunities and exposure to senior stakeholders within the organisation.

The role will require you to be office based 2 days/week in its London office.

 

Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be a Senior Qualified Accountant, who is able to demonstrate strong management and leadership skills and have proven experience working as a No1 or No2 in commercial finance, with exposure to the Board.  From translating the strategic plan into the annual operating plan to managing commercial financial performance through regular review cycles, you will be joining the organisation at a time of huge transformation and change.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Commercial teams build their annual net revenue plans, and develop their annual “joint business plans” with their customer, and consolidate at a UKI level
  • Supporting the reporting and explanation of UK&I revenue performance including customer & category performance, and understanding underlying performance
  • Highlighting future performance concerns and opportunities and supporting in planning commercial activities required to remediate any gaps to target
  • Supporting optimising significant trade spend across the UK&I business
  • Supporting the delivery of net revenue plans via strong understanding of controls and ensuring robust governance processes

 

About You

Commercially minded and entrepreneurial, you will be a high performing Qualified Accountant with experience of leading Commercial Finance teams in an FMCG environment.  You will have an ability to demonstrate excellent quantitative analysis capabilities and to quickly synthesise information, structure clear and concise presentation of findings and articulate recommendations to an executive audience.  Undoubtedly you will have the ability to quickly grasp the true value-drivers of the business and apply this lens within your sphere of influence.  Experience in leading planning and forecasting cycles in an FMCG environment iis essential in the first instance and exposure to a private equity setting highly desirable.
