Bristol | Hybrid £60,000 – £70,000 + benefits (DOE)
We’re supporting a growing, commercially focused business in Bristol with the appointment of a Senior Management Accountant to strengthen their finance function during an important phase of growth and decision-making.
This is a broad, hands-on role combining core month-end ownership with forward looking scenario and "what-if" analysis to support senior stakeholders.
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management accounting cycle while playing a key role in helping the business understand performance drivers and future outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Full ownership of the month-end close (P&L, balance sheet, journals, accruals, prepayments)
Preparation and presentation of management accounts with clear commentary
Variance analysis vs budget and forecast
Building and maintaining scenario models to support commercial and strategic decisions (e.g. sensitivity analysis, cost/investment trade-offs, growth scenarios)
Working closely with non-finance stakeholders to explain the numbers and implications
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and continuous improvement of reporting
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
Strong management accounting background with solid month-end experience
Comfortable with scenario modelling and analytical thinking (not a pure modelling role)
Commercially minded and able to translate numbers into insight
Confident engaging with senior stakeholders
Experience in an SME or growth-oriented environment preferred
