Are you an experienced accounting professional with a strong technical background and a passion for working in the private equity space? We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Accountant to join our dynamic team in Bristol and contribute to our continued success.

Our client is a global phenomenon.  Private equity backed and based in Bristol, the organisation has seen consistent double digit growth and has an ambitious M&A agenda.

Position Overview: As a Senior Technical Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting and compliance. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing complex technical accounting issues, supporting the investment team, and providing insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Address complex technical accounting issues and provide guidance on accounting policies and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with the investment team to assess the financial implications of potential investments.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for stakeholders and investors.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide technical accounting advice to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Technical Accountant or similar role, preferably within the private equity space.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and technical accounting standards.
  • Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
