Company

Early stage tech business headquartered in Bristol with operations over the globe (US and Europe) now seeks to appoint a Strategy Director to support an ambitious CEO.  In a newly created role delivering extensive fundraising activities, we are looking to hear from suitably qualified Strategy/M&A/Investment Directors, ideally with experience in the VC space.  We are looking for an individual who is passionate about growth strategy, brings high energy and can really act as a sparring business partner to the CEO.

Role

This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship.  As part of an extended leadership team, you will lead and manage the execution of M&A transactions, including deal origination, due diligence, financial analysis, valuation, negotiation, and deal structuring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal Sourcing: Identify and develop investment opportunities through networking, attending industry events, and leveraging existing relationships within the technology ecosystem.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, including market analysis, competitive landscape evaluation, financial modelling, and risk assessment.
  • Investment Thesis Development: Develop and articulate clear investment theses for potential investments, presenting findings and recommendations to the investment committee and Board.
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships co-investors, industry experts, and other stakeholders to enhance deal flow and portfolio support.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics to inform investment strategy and identify new opportunities.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on performance, market conditions, and investment activities fot stakeholders.

 

About You

ACA qualified with extensive exposure to TMT sectors, you will bring strong business acumen and financial literacy, with experience in financial modelling and analysis.  With likely a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or a related field, you will have proven track record of successful investments in the technology sector. A robust appreciation and experience of data-driven and customer-centric approaches to driving growth is essential as is the ability to face off against a demanding CEO and Board team.  This role is based in the South West and will require at least 3 days/week in the office.
